The sexy life is a lot more than just having a lingerie drawer full of sheer delights.  No small part of it is setting, somewhere you feel relaxation spreading over your body and slower thoughts crossing your mind. This blog post is going to be about 5 effective and low cost things you can do to make your bedroom into boudoir (pronouncec bood-warr). Mood setting is covered here, this is about making sure every time you open the door the sight is inviting and touches you with a fantasy.

1.  Canvas the clutter. Walking into a room and seeing mess, for me, is seeing a chore to do. It does nothing to ease  you into themood. Get it done in 10 minutes bursts until the room is clear and clutter free.

2.  Think fabric and feel the fabric. Bed spreads should be bought not just on colour but also on how intimate they feel on the skin. Hot tip- dont just feel it with the skin on your fingers, use your inner wrist as well.  Aim to get bedding you would want to spend all day in.   Adding a few cushions, wall tapestry or a thick pile rug can make all the difference.

3. Turn down the lights- this doesn’t mean that you have to get your local sparkie in, it can be as simple as getting a lamp that adjusts. Soft lighting is soothing and shadows on the wall can be quite playful, if you work it right. The pair I have in my boudoir costs less than $100 for the pair.

4. Mirror, mirror. A well placed mirror can make all the difference in the world. Putting it on the ceiling might be out of budget, or beyond your handyman skills, but on a wall with a slight tilt upwards, will get an additional visual going for you.

5. Tease your other senses to full attention. For scent try a reed difuser or candle in a fresh scent, or vanilla (proven to attract men).  I enjoy reed diffuser as that release a scent at all times, but on the other hand candles do add to the atmosphere beautifully. For sound  a small sound system is great for putting on something you find pleasurable, but I wouldn’t put a TV in there. Too distracting and it does nothing to improve the mood.

So Halloween has been and gone. Some of you were saucy witches, or flirty French maids, however hands down the most popularcostume this year was was the Cowgirl!

It is easy to see why to, the costume itself almost requires that you wear fabulous boots, you get to have the ‘walk of power.’ Try thing John Wayne with more hip swagger. the cowgirl costume also come with some fantastic pick up lines such as:
*Them calves of your sure look like they could use a roping
*You could save a horse and ride a cowgirl

My personal all time favourite cowgirl pick up line is:

On a slightly more serious note while there is a distinct shortage of cowgirls in New Zealand, it is warm in October so it tends to be lovely and warm on All Hallows Eve, an excellent reason to  break out the short skirts. Keep in mind you can wear your fancy dress more than just once this summer.

As I  have mentioned elsewhere on my blog adult costumes are a lot more than just  something  to wear to a party, they are great for a little role play or for clubbing.
